The district fosters a welcoming, safe, and positive environment where all individuals feel accepted and valued. There is a strong commitment to ensuring that every member feels included as an important part of the school community.In the focus group, several students shared that they do not receive specific or actionable feedback to help them improve their work. Many expressed uncertainty about what steps were needed to reach mastery and were unclear on how to refine their practice after completing an assignment. Students also indicated that they were not confident in their ability to self-evaluate, suggesting a need for clearer success criteria, modeling, and structured opportunities to reflect on their learning and progress.
The district effectively establishes clear classroom expectations and consistent routines. Students came prepared with the necessary materials and demonstrated a clear understanding of what was expected of them and when to complete tasks.During the focus group, parents voiced ongoing concerns related to student safety, particularly in the parking lot. They identified the pick-up and drop-off area as a significant safety concern, especially for younger elementary students–noting that traffic flow and supervision procedures are not consistently managed. Parents expressed that safety protocols in this area should be more clearly established, consistently implemented and routinely monitored to ensure adequate resources and supervision are in place each day.
Students report feeling safe and supported when approaching trusted adults in the building. They believe they can openly share both positive experiences and concerns, knowing they will be listened to with care, respect, and without judgment. This sense of trust reflects strong relationships between students and staff and contributes to an emotionally secure learning environment.
